Khaldor seeks an ancient relic—the “Fang of Anubis”—a weapon said to summon a demonic army.
After a brutal attack leaves Mathayus near death, he is saved by Nayeli (Zoe Saldaña), a fierce warrior queen from a hidden city. She tells him Khaldor has kidnapped her people to dig for the Fang. Mathayus, seeking vengeance and redemption, joins her on a suicide mission.
Act 2 – The Brotherhood of Sand
Mathayus and Nayeli recruit a band of outcasts:
- Rakan (John Cena), a cocky mercenary with a personal grudge against Khaldor.
- Tariq (a young newcomer), a thief with a mysterious past tied to the Fang.

Act 3 – The Final Strike
The team infiltrates Khaldor’s stronghold, a massive pyramid where the Fang is buried. In a brutal showdown:
- Rakan sacrifices himself to hold off Khaldor’s elite guards.
- Zahara leads a rebellion of slaves to weaken Khaldor’s forces.
- Mathayus and Khaldor duel atop the pyramid as a sandstorm rages.
Just as Khaldor claims the Fang and unleashes its power, Tariq outsmarts him, causing the relic to backfire. Khaldor is consumed by darkness, and Mathayus delivers the final blow.
Epilogue – A New Dynasty
With Khaldor defeated, Nayeli offers Mathayus a place as her king. But he declines, choosing instead to wander the desert, protecting the weak. He passes his iconic scorpion medallion to Tariq, telling him: “The true king is not the one who takes power, but the one who gives it away.”
As Mathayus rides into the sunset, rumors spread of a new threat rising in the East… setting up a potential sequel.
