Xiaomi Unveils Its First AI Glasses Changing world

BEIJING, China – June 26, 2025 – Xiaomi today officially launched its highly anticipated first-ever AI glasses, marking a significant entry into the smart eyewear market and positioning itself as a direct competitor to Meta’s popular Ray-Ban smart glasses. The announcement was made during a major launch event in China, which also saw the debut of other innovative products including the Redmi K80 Ultra, Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, and an electric SUV.
The Xiaomi AI Glasses are designed as a “next generation of personal smart device,” integrating advanced AI capabilities with a focus on immersive experiences and everyday utility.
Key Features and Specifications:

  • Lightweight Design: Weighing in at a mere 40g, the glasses are designed for comfort and extended wear, resembling traditional eyewear. They are available in three color options: Black, Brown, and Green, with optional electrochromic lenses that can change tint in just 0.2 seconds.
  • Integrated Camera: A 12MP Sony IMX681 first-person camera is built-in, capable of recording 2K video at 30 frames per second. It supports electronic image stabilization, real-time livestreaming, and first-person video calls. For privacy, an orange indicator light blinks when the camera is active.
  • AI-Powered Capabilities: At the heart of the glasses is a built-in Xiaomi AI system, leveraging multimodal AI for a range of functions:
  • Object Recognition: Users can point at objects and ask real-time questions about them.
  • Text Translation: Real-time translation is supported across 10 languages, including English, Japanese, German, and Spanish.
  • Calorie Counting: A unique feature allowing users to identify and count calories for food items.
  • Meeting Assistant: Offers automatic transcription, smart summaries, and real-time interpretation during meetings.
  • Daily Q&A: An on-the-go AI hub for general queries.
  • Audio Experience: Equipped with dual open-ear speakers and a five-microphone array with bone-conduction and wind-noise resistance, ensuring clear audio capture and playback.
  • Seamless Integration: The glasses seamlessly pair with Xiaomi smartphones for collaborative camera use and can control other smart home devices via voice commands. They also enable contactless payments by scanning QR codes and confirming transactions with voice.
  • Performance and Battery: Powered by a dual-chip system – a Snapdragon AR1 processor for high-performance tasks and a low-power chip running on Xiaomi’s in-house Vela OS. The 263mAh battery offers up to 8.6 hours of usage, significantly longer than some competing products, and supports USB-C charging.
    Pricing and Availability:
The Xiaomi AI Glasses are currently available exclusively in China. The standard model is priced at 1,999 yuan (approximately $275 USD).
